The Guardian™ 2800 Series is a multi-channel video transmission system for use with singlemode fibre. Each video channel is linearly digitised and transmitted over the optical fibre in a high quality digital format. As there is no compression of the digital signal, there is no loss of signal content and no delays associated with the transmission. This means, that the signal quality is kept at the same level back in the Control room, as if you were looking at the direct picture output from the camera. Because the signal is transmitted digitally, it can virtually be repeated almost indefinitely for extremely long-distance transmission.

The Guardian™ 2800 Series is a highly flexible system. Its modular approach allows the equipment to be configured for many applications. Architectures can be Point-to-Point or Ring network with an option for redundant capacity. It is also possible to add, drop and pass fixed or dynamic configurations.

For high quality long distance transmission where the installed cost of the fibre optic cable is significant or where there is limited availability of fibre, the Guardian™ 2800 Series of multi-channel equipment provides the market's highest quality flexible solution to multi-channel applications - with up to 80 video channels on a singlemode fibre.

The solution is hence ideal for collecting numerous channels of CCTV video, audio and data from a variety of sites and transmitting them back to one or multiple control rooms.
